Movie Food April 2, 2006

It is SO shocking what movie food costs these days! I went to see Pride and Prejudice this afternoon  – the new one with Kiera Knightley and Matthew MacFadhyen and it was amazing. I have always loved Jane Austen stories and they have really captured the essence of her work. Before this starts to sound like a review I was actually talking about food… So I'm one of those people that likes to eat rubbish when I go to the movies. LIke that really bad for you Nachos, the chips are like crisp cardboard, and the cheese is like glue and doesn't taste even remotely like cheese, but the salsa is pretty good so you eat it anyway!? Man that costs like a lot – I could get half decent take-aways for the same price. Plus I had to have coke to quench the old thirst as well! Plus popcorn…and Jelly Tots. Normally when I go to the movies with my husband it's a drink. Full stop. But when I'm on my own and finally have some time to myself after having been a mom all week, I spoil myself. To spoil yourself with junk? Oh yes.

Friesian Horse in Surf

Whilst part of me dreams of the beauty and elegance of classical dressage with the top hat and tails of top competition. The other half of me dreams of flying free and wild on the back of a pure bred Friesian horse along some fantastical beach in the sky across to Valhalla, realm of the Norse gods.

Rainbow PensWell, this weekend I was on a scrapbooking holiday with my fellow Creative Memories consultants, it was fabulous! It was a seaside resort on the west coast – mind you it could have been in an inner city somewhere – because my head was permanently bent over my albums. I managed to get a whole one done, using black pages, and a bit of another one started – my honeymoon album. I finally feel like I don’t have the world left over to be scrapped anymore. So everytime a page is done I feel a huge accomplishment.

Portugal TrainingIn my surfings today I also found a great equestrian vacations site. So I’m absolutely dying to go and get some Classical Dressage training in Portugal.(this link is to a dressage training centre in Oregon so you can see what I’m talking about.)on those fabulous Lusitano horses! They are SO beautiful, and purpose bred for great dressage movement and extention. Either that or an Australian outback cattle drive or something where I can rough it a bit! Either way I’m due for a holiday!  – What…I’ve just been on one…?

Mini Circle Maker

Pens

I spent all together too much money yesterday on scrapboking supplies. I ordered several of the new paper series, as well as the matching stickers, and a circle maker tool. The cool thing is that now I get a free gift too – they SO know how to make you spend more money! Now if I can just find a way to sneak it into my supply tote, that my husband doesn’t see it arrive…

Finally the weather has turned a bit cooler today. I was starting to despair that the hot weather was going to continue through into this week. This is a new blog for me, and my first time at wordpress. I am pleased to discover the customizable templates at any rate. Aside from blogging, one of my favorite activities is enjoying the view from my porch armed with a glass of wine.
